W02 Reflection: Entrepreneurial Journal

I think that Randy Pausch was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams because he saw a brick wall as an opportunity to show how bad he wanted something. This mindset helped him to achieve so many of his goals because he decided that he would find a way around, above, or through that wall. Brick walls are there to stop people that don't want it as much as others. He quoted "If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself and the dreams will come to you." I think that this quote is important because a lot of people will do anything for success. And yes, a lot of them will be successful, but I don't think that it will be fulfilling to them.

I think that dreaming is such an important aspect that should forever be a part of our lives. If we don't dream, we won't have goals. Dreaming is like a shimmer of light in a world that can be a very dark place. If we do not have goals and dreams, we wouldn't have successful people in life. An example that I would like to share is about my parents. They have this dream about creating a place that the family can come together. They want a house that can fit everybody so that we can all come and visit frequently. They have been struggling because of unfortunate circumstances with health, but they are not giving up on their goal. They have been diligent in doing whatever it takes to make their dreams come true. I really admire the effort and drive to make that dream come true.

Ever since I was a kid I had always dreamed about making enough money to retire my parents. That has been my dream since a very young age. I think that it is so important to me because of the person that my parents have raised me to be. They have taught me how to live a life of integrity and honesty. They gave me a childhood that I can only pray to give to my children. I have seen throughout my life, how hard they both work and I would love to be able to repay them for all of the amazing things that they have done for me.
